There was a quote from Pink Floyd's One Slip in Malcolm Brenner's Wet Goddess book, and now that's all I can think of when I listen to this song.
Amusingly enough, my brain somehow made the same connection to the otherwise mediocre radio hit No Promises by Cheat Codes. Probably because of the bit about diving in the water, but also the theme of difficulty and hesitation. It makes me think how the two most prominent human/dolphin relationships ended with a suicide after separation. Promise me no promises, indeed.
