Thanksgiving meals for Vets
#1

I'll be spending Thanksgiving day this year as every year, about 300 miles from here at a Vet Service Center dishing out meals to homeless, underprivileged, and just plain lonely Veterans. There are places like this all over the country. This one does a lot more than just a meal on a holiday, but it's the meal I'm helping with.

My own family's meal will wait. They know what I'm doing, and why. Some of them are here too, helping. We'll eat and celebrate together still later, or not, if there's anything left from the meal at home. That's not what it's about though. I'll see ya in a couple days.

I'm planning on volunteering to feed the homeless this Christmas.

Once I start to receive my disability benefits and have a relatively stable income, I'm probably going to volunteer more often, assuming it won't affect my payments.
