Does anyone on this forum go to the casinos? I was about $480 ahead for the year before the Covid virus shut the casinos down. I've never hit a jackpot but would win $200 or $300 here or there. I only play the slots. Some of my family members hit jackpots. I will be going to Vegas with family once everything reopens.
Um, no. A relative does. Or has. But Good Luck.
I've been to one once. I wasn't smart about it and went home broke. Here's how I'd approach it if I felt like going again.
* Determine in advance how much money you want to gamble. Consider that you could lose all of it.
* Eat dinner and fill your fuel tank before you leave. You may also want to leave enough cash in the car for parking fees.
* Wear some piece of clothing with pockets that are roomy enough to hold all your betting money; it should have one pocket on each side.
* Put all your gambling money in one pocket. This is the pocket you'll take money out of.
* Whenever you win something, put that money in the other pocket.
* When the gambling-money pocket is empty, go home.
* Do not take anything out of the winnings pocket until you get home.
Excellent advice threelegs. I only spend between $20-$50 each time I go. Usually I just bet the minimum on a machine (usually 15 to 70 cents) until I hit something and then do max bets until it takes me down to my original bank roll. Plus I like watching what other games people are winning or losing on. While I know the casino always wins in the long run and you will always lose if you continue playing, I've had good luck on machines that have a line of people wanting to play. I've had a family member win just under $10,000 on such a machine.
I've been lucky in love, figure that means unlucky at cards so..

A fortune won or lost on every deal... If I hit a big jackpot I'm buying a horse farm!
I've worked in one.
But for the most part i don't gamble more then i can safely lose. Mostly I play $20 and either lose it or double it and walk out.
Years ago when the circus played Atlantic City, I went in with a roll of quarters and walked out 3 1/2 hours later, minus the quarters, and went back to the cats.
So that's my big gambling story.
Most i've ever won was $300. but that was a few hour on a dime slot and a few hands of Black Jack
