I've done my share of experimenting in my youth and equines are the only ones that I can really connect with. The way they communicate with us on a level playing field makes them really appealing. My experience with canines is they have usually been conditioned to be subordinate and it's hard to really interact with 'them'.
Where as if you look at a mare in the pasture... she'll tell you what she thinks of you right quick if you listen. Also the mutual grooming, silent communication with body language, and feeling of being accepted into the herd really sets them apart for me.
Funny, you could probably swap the 'horse' in my message with 'canine' and have it make perfect sense to a K9 zoo. ? It's difficult to really lay out hard differences between K9-zoo's and Equi-zoo's.
